An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join Ultima Media, a global B2B publishing, media and conference & events business based out of Hammersmith. We cover the B2B automotive sector across manufacturing, logistics, design and technology, producing content for a global audience through magazines and online. In addition, we have developed a portfolio of conferences and events that cover Mexico, California, Detroit, Munich, Geneva, Shanghai, Budapest, UK and, launching this year, Dubai.

As Finance Manager, you will responsible for day-to-day financial operations of the company, including preparation of timely financial information and reports. You will support the Financial Controller in developing processes, streamlining month end procedures, investigating variances and making recommendations based on our analysis.
You will be a qualified or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA Accountant with a solid knowledge of management and financial accounting, ideally with experience of working in an event organiser or media environment.
We will consider candidates interested in working 3-5 days per week and flexible hours for working parents.
Manage the day-to-day finance operations, including payments, banking and cash flow (multi-currency) and proactive monitoring of cost control
As a team, devise and deliver streamlined process and methods to improve the financial running and commerciality of the business
Responsible for statutory reporting requirements including UK and Foreign VAT returns and PAYE reporting
Assist with statutory accounts preparation as well as liaising with auditors in end of year processes
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecast
Assist with the payroll process (administered by outsourced provider)
Supervise an Accounts Assistant handling credit control, invoicing, purchase ledger and company credit cards
Qualified or part-qualified accountant
Experience as a Finance Manager in a small-medium size business, preferably in an event organiser or media environment
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Currently be eligible to work in the UK (as this position is available immediately),
Articulate (oral and written) with interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
Self-starter with a pro-active approach to their work
Solution driven with ability to generate new and efficient way of working that add value to the business
A supportive team player who enforces deadlines in a positive manner
Experience of system implementation preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel and a good working knowledge of SAGE or SAP
